I support the protestors. I also believe that systemic racism is something we all must take responsibility for. The art world is no different.
I call for artists of color to submit their work for consideration. Please, be bold, be fearless, make a statement with your art.
Two shows are of particular importance and relevance:
"The Masks We Wear" - October 2020 - Please explore what it's like to hide your true identity, your true feelings, your true language and persona.
"Sheep/Not Sheep" -November/December 2020 - A show about the November election. Present work that truly speaks to the election process, the struggles minorities have faced voting, and what it means to elect a president or official of color.
"The Problem We All Live With" - May 6-August 1, 2021 - I think this one is obvious. Be bold.
